There is an upward trajectory of progress for all Free School Meal (FSM) students in years 8 - 10 when comparing the December 2021 NGRT test with the December 2022 NGRT test.

Both Year 8 and Year 9 have made more than average progress compared to the December 2021 NGRT test based on their Standardised Age Score (SAS).

In Year 8, students who receive Free School Meals made on average more progress compared to twelve months ago, than students who do not recieve FSM.

The Year 9 FSM cohort currently have an average SAS score of 100.7 and in Year 10, FSM students have on average a SAS score of 102.2 and therefore both cohorts are now above National Averages.

In Year 8 the boys demonstrated a big improvement in reading skills from the December 2021 NGRT tests making rapid progress from being below National Averages with an SAS score of 99.6, to in December 2022, achieveing an above National Average SAS score of 103.6.
In Year 9 the boys have also demonstrated a big improvement, making rapid progress from an average SAS score of 100.5 in December 2021, to an average SAS score of 102.5 in 2022.
In both Years 8 and 9 our data shows that we are closing the reading gap between boys and girls.
